Clean Mombasa Activities
Since its formation,Clean Mombasa CBO members have conducted a series of activities aimed at learning and maintaining Mombasa environmentally clean and attractive. Among these activities , the members of the Executive Committee organized for the members bonding event which took place in Mombasa Village termed “Chairman’s Goat Party”; In house environmental Training and National tree planting in Shanzu and County tree planting at St. Augustine school, Tudor primary school together with Mavuno Michezo group from Nairobi; Learning visit to study the Mangrove ecosystem on Wasini Island, in Shimoni Achipelago in Kwale County and Kadaina Island in Matsangoni. Visit to Watamu in Kilifi County, planting mangrove at Miritini and Tudor Muoroto.

Since its formation,Clean Mombasa CBO members have conducted a series of activities aimed at learning and maintaining Mombasa environmentally clean and attractive. The members of Clean Mombasa CBO were equally active in participating in the intervention at Kibarani, VOK area, and Mwakirunge dumpsites. The CBO members have been also acting in agitating for cleaning and/ or establishing waste sewerage treatment plants in Mombasa trhough radio interviews on the need to protect coastal ecosystem and conserve the environment and tree planting activities and setting up of tree nurseries in schools etc.
Cooperation With Other CBOS
It has been a tradition and practice of Clean Mombasa CBO to ensure that its role in advocating for keeping our cities clean and also contribute to the overall conservation of the environment, CBO extends its operations to include cooperation with other like minded civic organizations with a view to enhancing its role.
The leadership of Clean Mombasa CBO calls upon all willing Community Based Organizations, NGOs, and Faith Based Organizations with operations in Mombasa County to join its team of environmentally sensitized residents and professionals to continue advocating for clean and peaceful Mombasa City and its environs.
Cooperation With Other State Agencies
Furthermore, our leadership has been in direct consultation with officials of National Environmental Authority (NEMA), Kenya Forest Services (KFS), at regional and county level as well as collaborating with officials of Mombasa County Government- Governor’s office and county environment committee- on waste management endeavors and tree planting actions. Equally important has been cooperation with the stakeholders in environment particularly schools management, communities residing in areas earmarked for cleaning and /or tree planting exercises.
The response has been quite positive, succeeding to plant mangrove tree seedlings in collaboration with St. Augustine School management and Shanzu area residents.
